White Cane Day Proclamation, to be delivered by Abilene Mayor Anthony Williams
to local NFB President, Mary Kindrick.
Thursday, October 26 at 8:30 AM

All area blind, involved agencies, supporters, and family are invited to be present during this ceremony.
There will be a separate pledge of allegiance ceremony and lead by a blind elementary school child at the start of the City Council meeting.
The annual WCD event is important to the blind and an important reminder to those who lead our community.

This year is the 53rd anniversary since President Lyndon B. Johnson’s appropriate White Cane Day proclamation was initiated in 1964.

We commence with Dallas Mayor Rawlings’ proclamation, followed by inspiring speakers. In addition, a tasty lunch will be provided by our steady sponsor Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers.
