The Big Country, Abilene Area NFB Chapter will be the recipient of the annual

White Cane Day Proclamation, to be delivered by Abilene Mayor Anthony Williams

to local NFB President, Mary Kindrick.

Thursday, October 26 at 8:30 AM

Abilene City Hall Council Chambers

All area blind, involved agencies, supporters, and family are invited to be present during this ceremony.

There will be a separate pledge of allegiance ceremony and lead by a blind elementary school child at the start of the City Council meeting.

The annual WCD event is important to the blind and an important reminder to those who lead our community.

We help to demonstrate to children and others that blindness is not a barrier to participating in the community.
